Rekicks | Packaging Design
About the project:
Rekicks is the sustainable sneaker brand for conscious consumers.
The purpose of the brand is to increase the user’s intention to collect/keep the box and possibly reuse it for purposes such as storage (makeshift shoe rack) or for items such as stationary.
This brand would be targeted to Gen Z, Millennials and overall, the category of “Sneaker heads”.

Primary Logo
The name "Rekicks" arrives from reusable and "kicks" which is a term used to refer to sneakers. The primary logo is a stacked lockup incorporating the logo visual.
Secondary Logo
The secondary logo is that of horizontal version without the shoe to behave as a more simpler version.
Logomark
The logomark is a circular mark with the letter "R" and the lines adding to the visual anchors.

The hierarchy specifications ranges from Heading to Body content where the most primary text is of Woodchuck Heavy while the rest vary around weights of Poppins.

Illustrations & Pattern
The illustrations consists of an outlined and simplified style mainly highlighting the feature of lines representing sports and agility and reusability. There is also a more flexible anchor of shoelaces presented below which can be recreated in the desired directions and used.

Prototype
The first paper printed prototype made using Ivory matte paper to view the graphics and test the functionality of creating the box.

Final Design
The final prototype design was made using single and double walled corrugated cardboard sheets for the inner and outer box respectively.
The design addresses challenges by featuring a distinctive frontal drawer mechanism for effortless shoe access. Furthermore, the box incorporates a positive and negative indented design on its bottom and top, enabling a straightforward locking mechanism when stacking multiple boxes. This intuitive design not only facilitates easy storage but also creates a customizable, stable shoe rack.
The graphics were printed on vinyl sticker sheets and applied on the box according to the design.
